Some initial gut reactions about episode now decidedly codenamed 'Monster Book' (because even the acronym is so darn long: TMaTEoTB!!!):

:D , , :o , , :o ...these were my reactions to the epi in chronological order. Adored it 100%, in a weird it-felt-like-they-were-talking-directly-to-us-most-of-the-epi kinda way. And that's a good thing!

It had everything: the most gut-wrenching kind of funny EVER, some seriously serious stuff NOT being out of place at all by the previous funny (how does SPN do that???), a sly Castiel, brotherly moments (!!!\o/!!!), a foreboding ending, Zachariah's reapearence, and still a ton of questions we want answered NOW but we're still gonna have to wait 2 weeks for...

Ah, the fangurl in me wants to rant and rant, but it's 12am now, so I iz going off to sleep and having nice dreams about Winchesters and apocalypses. And about Winchesters stopping said apocalypses.

...And maybe a few unicorns.

I just finished watching it too. And All I can say is OMG. What a great way to go off into the Easter break. Castiel showing some personality. A cliff hanger. Sam getting confronted over the Demon blood. Return of Zach. Lilith running scared.

Just amazing. Ahhh! Is all I can say. :D This has to be the best ever spn season ever!

Ha yeah really Lillith's eye roll thing is freakin creepy, we haven't seen her do that since Yellow Fever and it was even creepier now... I just had a thought: we actually haven't seen Lillith all season, have we? Only a Dean-vision Lillith, not the real thing... Correct me if I'm wrong though. Man she hasn't been there at all, yet SO there a the same time.

And you just know Chuck got some vision of the apocalyptic goodness coming on later. Or maybe something just in the next episodes? Man he was cool, too bad he's stuck doing something he really doesn't wanna do, now that he knows the Winchesters are real. :(

But I'll hold out as well 'till I see it again tonight. *SQUEE!YAY!*

For some reason I think it has something to do with Bobby. I dont know why, I guess its because of the connection the boys have with him. But I will be totally wrong. :D
Going to watch it again while i am on the exercise bike. HELL YEAH!

I shouldn't be surprised at this point in the show's history, but it still amazes me how Supernatural is able to land great guest stars for their show.

From Amy Acker (Fred on "Angel"), Trisha Helfer (Six on "Battlestar Galactica), Robert Wisdom (best known as Lechero on Prison Break, or for his recent guest stint as the Lazertag owner on the HIMYM epsiode "Murtaugh") as Uriel, Kurt Fuller as Zacharia, to most recently Robert Patrick Benedict ("Waiting..." & "Still Waiting...") as the prophet Chuck, Supernatural always manages to up it's "geek-cred" with great guest stars in great roles.

While Rob Benedict is hilarious as Chuck (which is to be expected if you've ever seen "Waiting...") one can't help but appreciate the subtle and as effective serious side he brought to the role of prophet of the Winchester Gospel. You felt for the guy when the realization that he's been "tapped" to be a mouthpiece for God. It's all well and good to be excited about a story, but when you find out the people you're writing about are real and in serious pain and suffering... Wow. That messes you up.

It's a credit to the awesome writers of the series that they are able to bring such a great depth to a side character and show they're telling a great story first and foremost with any thought of "stunt-casting" being secondary and not a ploy for ratings (which let me make clear, is never what Supernatural has done).

Excellent episode all around and I hope to see more like it in the winding down of the season.

Denis, I agree with you whole-heartedly. And let's not forget horror movie icon Linda Blair, way back in season 2.

I really loved this episode as well, and cannot wait to see what the rest of the season is going to bring us.

I have to just say while I was rewatching it I was like, 'Well the world isnt going to end.' Because if that was true why would there be the new new testerment. I dont really picture Demons sitting down reading about Sam and Dean killing them. :)

Hey, you never know!

*sigh* I feel awesome after watching this episode thrice (yes, that IS a word, actually!) and I have some thoughts!

-First off, I think I KNOW where Lillith escaped to after she fled, to anyone who watched Heroes this monday! She developed a russian accent and went undercover as Danko's girlfriend! Hah! I'm sure that was the same actress, I just don't know where to look for the names of guest appearences on shows... but I'm quite sure it's the same actress!

-DINER SCENE: Kripke’s. Hollow. Diner. *giggles* That is all. And the fake fight scene? Yeah, still hurt as much as a real fight scene. When Dean says ‘Like that can’t happen’ to the fiery demonic passion with Lillith... It took me two viewings of the episode to get what he meant… That Sam told Dean about the events in IKWYDLS. Theeeen the line hit home. He does seem to like shoving the ‘Sam sleeps with monsters’ line in his face.

- But the brothers seemed to kind of be back this episode! The laundry scene, and the scene where Sam is prohibited from doing research, and Dean suggest that he watch porn. *chortles* It felt like season 2 again...

-I loved that scene so much, when Chuck got to speak with Sam about his powers. It's great because Sam needed to talk to someone who understood what he was going through so bad (ASIDE from Ruby!) and Dean (or anyone else for that matter) doesn't know what he has to do to get stronger. Funny how even when talking to probably the only other person who knew what he was going through who says it was surely wrong to do what he was doing, Sam denies it and says that "no, its fine it can't be bad". He's denying how out of control the whole thing could become. I'm really gunning for that blood-addicted thing right about now. Poor Sam. :(

-DEAN OF YORE WAS BACK! If only partially, he was baaaack! He seemed much more... animated this episode. He was getting angry, getting excited, making an active descision to stay with Sam even though Sam didn't wana leave, trying to pump up Chuck to come with him, getting p**sed at angels + God... it was so awesome!

-I love how Angels can change prophecy/destiny. They’re not supposed to interfere, but when they do, everything changes. It’s like the ‘agents of fate’ are also the ones that can alter it. But they’re not supposed to. Hence Chuck’s “I didn’t write this!”. Which makes me wonder if angels like Anna, who probably wouldn’t give a cr*p about prophecy/destiny, could change some of the awful and angsty things destiny surely has in plan for our boys. Ooo, or Cas! He could help too! Like he did this episode! YEAH HE SO SHOULD! Because sly!Castiel is turning out to be my favorite flavor of Castiel. :P

-CHUCK'S VISION: What did he see!?! I was thinking apocalypse before, but I think the Winchesters already know about that, why would he need to warn them, exactly? Plus, his visions seem to come pretty close to when stuff happens, so now I'm thinking character death? A phi on Zachariah for not allowing Chuck to warn them! :x grr...

...Ohmygosh that was long...

I feel like I have just read the supernatural Book after that post. lol.

When Dean was like 'Like that cant happen' it took be straight back to Part One of All Hell Breaks loose when Andy sends the images to Dean and Bobby asked him if it was like what Sam has. You know when Dean wanted to say 'I am not a freak like Sam' or something like that.

So maybe to me its Kinda making me think Dean of season two is coming back. Helz yeah!

I hope the Prophet Chuck (hehehe) didnt see Dean killing Sam because just imagain how bad that would be to Dean, it would really rip his soul appart. And its not like Dean hasnt already put his soul online for Sammy.
