Episode Delay

General discussion about Supernatural!

Episode Delay

Postby Tim on Thu Feb 12, 2009 7:19 am

There has been another episode delay. Only this time it is not a Crossroads delay, but for Supernatural itself.

It was originally reported that episodes would resume airing in 3 weeks on March 5, 2009, with "Death Takes A Holiday." However, the airing of this episode has been pushed to the following week, March 12.

THis is regrettable news to Ty and myself.

How do you guys feel about it?

Dude, when I found this out, I took out on an electronics display module. (I was at work.)

We'll discuss this later . . .

Which Episodes Should Fill the Haitus?

Postby joebolin on Sat Feb 14, 2009 4:48 am

I didn't know the series was on hiatus AGAIN! What does that make--four new episodes and we are back to repeats? ARRGH (Talk Like A Pirate is long-past, I know, but it's still fun). At least the repeats DID start with "Yellow Fever," which I enjoyed the first time around (the bonus "Eye of the Tiger" footage is memorable). Hopefully, the next episodes to be rerun will be "In the Beginning," "After School Special" (it would be fantastic to see these back-to-back) and "Monster Movie" (just 'cause I love it).

Waiting for the next NEW episode and listening to Crossroads in the meantime!

Just found out why CW pushed both shows back a week, and I actually think its a good idea that they did.

If you've already circled March 5 on your calendar, I hope you wrote it in pencil. While Smallville and Supernatural were originally scheduled to return with new episodes on that day, today the CW revealed that their returns are being pushed back yet another week to March 12.

No official reason was given for this delay, but odds are it has something to do with a little show called American Idol. On March 5, American Idol will have its final semi-final round where the judges select the final three singers who will compete in the top 12. Rather than put new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural up against it, the CW may be holding them back one week so that their shows aren't in the line of fire of TV's most popular show. The delay may frustrate fans, but when looking at the bigger picture, it may be better to avoid the slaughter.

**SPOILER WARNING**

I'm posting the link to the article where I got that from, but it does contain a spoiler for the next episode, Death Takes A Holiday. Click at your own risk!
