I was rewatching this today and what the trickster said to Sam at the end got me thinking.

Do you think his words about how Dean his weakness and that the bad guys knowing it, could he be giving a criptic clue about Ruby?

Also would you call the trickster as an evil thing that they hunt?

I don't understand where the Trickster's coming from really. If the Trickster likes to stir up chaos, as noted in Tall Tales.....why try to "help" Sam by getting him to see the error of his ways. I guess he could be trying to clue Sam into Ruby's deceit.......show Sam that being BFF with Ruby WILL NOT save Dean, but Sam's too desperate to realize/see this. The only thing I can think of, is that the Trickster knows Ruby's endgame, and he's not thrilled with the whole "Hell on Earth" deal, so that's why he's trying to enlighten Sam. I dunno.

Maybe he isnt all that evil?

The trickster always seems to want to be teaching the Winchesters a lesson. Plus wouldnt the tricksters work be a little mundan when 'Hell on Earth'. Shrug. He is so interesting.
