It wasn't what I had thought it was going to be. I know Jeffrey Dean Morgan is too busy to actually make an appearance but that was what I was hoping for. It would've been better if there were actually more conversations with John throughout. The episode disappointed me on that level.

As for the rest of it, it was an ok episode. I wouldn't put it on the level of "Hollywood Babylon" but it most definitely wasn't the best episode. Not badly written, decent plot. It was just meh for me.

What I was happy with was the fact that Sam and Dean still get completely worked up when it comes to their dad. Of course he's their dad, he's dead, and they won't ever forget him but John is and probably will always be a sour issue between Sam and Dean. They both see him on different levels and both have completely different attitudes towards him. Dean's obviously being his blind loyalty to his dad even though he hates the responsibility, and Sam's being John's hurt little boy that would fight with John (or be skeptical of him) in order to follow what he believes. And even from beyond the grave John apparently brings that out in the two of them. There will be that some things will never change.
